Generally, snacks do not have a great reputation from health perspective. This post is about using snacks to improve our health and support our detox diet to lose weight.
It's better for your health to see snacks as mini-meals. A meal that is almost as important as a healthy breakfast or other healthy eating such as lunch and dinner. Snacks are another tasty opportunity to eat for health and fitness.
If handled in proper way, snacks can give your body the nutrients it needs to produce enough energy while easily covering the gap between regular meals. Snacks are also suitable for people on a low carb diet.
But beware, not all snacks are same. These are roughly divided into two categories: fresh snacks and ready-to-eat snacks.
Obviously, fresh snacks are the ones you have to make, and ready-to-eat snacks are snacks that you can use directly from a package.
A healthy snack is made of healthy ingredients. Some examples of healthy ingredients: vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, seeds, oils, etc.
The only way to know for sure that your snack is really healthy is to make it yourself using healthy ingredients.

My favorite healthy snacks for detox diet
Unhealthy or healthy snacks often make the difference between a healthy and energetic body or exhausted body with excess weight.

These snacks are quick, simple, healthy and treat for taste buds as they support your regular detox diet to lose weight.
Recipe # 1: Cucumber Avocado rolls
- 1 avocado
- 1 cucumber
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 lime
- Basil leaves
- Paprika powder
- Pepper and sea salt
- Sun dried tomatoes (optional)
Cut the cucumber lengthwise into thin slices. Use a potato or vegetable peeler if you want.
Add the avocado, garlic, basil with a little salt and pepper in a blender, squeeze the lime into the whole thing and blend it until smooth.
Smear the mixture over the cucumber slices and roll them up. If you like it, you can add a sun-dried tomato per roll.
Finally, sprinkle a teaspoon of paprika on the rolls and enjoy!
Recipe # 2: Dark chocolate with nuts
- 60g raw nuts of your choice
- 80 g of dark chocolate (> 70% cocoa)
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 tablespoon grated coconut (optional)
Ready in 10 minutes.
Put a small saucepan of water on the stove and bring the water to a boil. Break the chocolate into pieces and place in a heat-resistant dish. Make sure that the container is slightly larger than the saucepan.
Place the dish on top of the pan so that it is heated by the hot water. The pieces of chocolate melts in this way by itself.
Dip the nuts into the chocolate and place on a large scale where they can cool down. Sprinkle possibly over some grated coconut.
Refrigerate and eat later.
Recipe # 3: Banana Oatmeal Cookies
Ingredients for 4 or 5 cookies
- 2 ripe bananas
- 100g rolled oats
Ready in 30 minutes (incl. 20 minutes oven). Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Mash the bananas and mix oatmeal with bananas. Put parchment paper on the baking tray. Divide the mixture in heaps on the baking sheet.
Bake for 20 minutes in the oven. Let it cool.
Tip: Alternatively, you can use cinnamon mixture, cocoa powder, spices or other mixed spice. You can also supplement it with raisins, dates, seeds, seeds or raw nuts.
Recipe # 4: Zucchini Chips
- 1 zucchini
- 2 tbsp coconut oil
- Paprika powder
- Pepper and sea salt
Ready in 30 minutes (incl. 25 minutes oven). Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Cut the zucchini into thin slices and coat with coconut oil, sea salt, pepper and paprika.
Place on a baking sheet with parchment paper and bake the slices for 25 minutes at 200 degrees. Tasty zucchini chips are all yours to enjoy!
5 tips to make tasty snacks for detox diet
Snacks are very important in any diet plan simply because these are the weak links. Very few diet plans actually "plan" for practical snacks. So let's see how can you turn this weak link to a strong integration to your detox diet plan.
Avoid sugar or artificial flavor
Sugar and other artificial flavors are the biggest culprits in recipes. It's the cheapest way to make tasty snacks, but are also the most unhealthy. Avoid sugar and other sweeteners while preparing snacks.
Use only natural food full of nutrients
Make your healthy snacks full of healthy ingredients nutrients. By giving your body the proper nutrients it has enough energy to get through the period between meals without feeling hungry.
Use quick snacks, store in airtight or freezer to save time
If your have too short time (even less than 10 minutes to spare), there are also many healthy snacks that you literally prepare within 30 seconds. Keep your healthy snacks airtight or inside freezer to manage your time better.
Use a lot of protein and fiber
Make sure you have enough protein and fiber are in the snacks. The fiber and protein you get less hungry and you therefore do not suffer from binge eating.
Use sea salt and extra virgin olive oil
Sugar is one way to make a tasty snack, but as you know by now is definitely not healthy. The correct ratio of sea salt and extra virgin olive oil can make healthy savory snacks too irresistible, and which are therefore a lot better than sugar.
